Laie's Wastewater Cycle
Wastewater flows from the homes (A) of residents connected to collection system (B) — or the sewer through pump stations (C) which transport the water to the Laie Water Reclamation Facility (LWRF): First to the Headworks (D), the secondary treatment units (E) and then to tertiary filtration and untraviolet light disinfection (F). The reclaimed effluent is reused (G) primarily for irrigation purposes or to a drainfield leaching system.
