Bigbie, who is full Hawaiian with strong
family ties in Laie, retired as Associate Dean of the Division of Continuing
Education at BYU-Hawaii, served as president of the Laie Community
Association board of directors for 10 years, and currently heads the
nonprofit Laie Community Foundation. She also serves as Director of Hawaiian
Governance for the Office of Hawaii Affairs (OHA).
Bigbie is a graduate of Kamehameha School,
Church College of Hawaii and Brigham Young University-Provo, where she also earned
a master's degree. She previously taught school on Moloka'i, where she was
born and raised.
